Signs tripartite MOU with RMUTL and RMUTT for the production and processing of hemp and cannabis for medical applications.

BANGKOK, THAILAND – 15 July 2021 – Bespoke Life Science Limited (“Bespoke”), a company under Boutique Corporation PCL, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (“RMUTL”), and Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (“RMUTT”) have signed the tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The purpose of the MOU is to cooperate and to produce medical products, extraction, cosmetics, food supplements and other products that include hemp and cannabis as ingredients. The MOU extends and covers production of Thai traditional medicines and related FMCG products that may include hemp and cannabis as ingredients further promoting Thai traditional cannabis wellness. All of the products will be distributed through a new brand of wellness centers by Bespoke.

This MOU follows in quick succession after RMUTL secured FDA License approval on 30 June 2021. The FDA License was issued for the import of 41 seed strains of cannabis of up to 398 seeds and another license for the cultivation of cannabis for Research and Development (R&D). The R&D process will involve selection of the best strains to eventually become ‘mother plants’ through the cultivation of said seeds into cannabis plants.

Mr. Prab Thakral, President and Group CEO of Boutique Corporation Public Company Limited said: “Bringing together all three parties under this MOU marks another huge milestone for Bespoke. With RMUTT on board, our value chain is now complete and thus can begin the next steps in R&D, cultivation and the production of Thai traditional medicine and wellness products, as well as the distribution of said products. A key part of our distribution strategy lies in our own brand of modern clinics and wellness centers to be launched in early 2022.”

Mr. Thakral continued “Through extensive market research, we have identified a need for a style of clinic that puts traditional practices of Thai medicine at the forefront of a modern approach to natural wellness. We plan to extend this initially across our hospitality and real estate projects and expect to see a new wave of demand and wellness tourism in the coming years”.

Speaking of the newly signed MOU Asst.Prof. Sommai Pivsa-art, President Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi said: “We are proud to join RMUTL and Bespoke on this venture and are committed to ensuring quality production processes that will benefit the end-users and enhance the teachings of Thai traditional medicine and its many uses.”

Dr. Suraphon Chaiwongsa, Vice President for Research and Academic Services, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna said: “This MOU marks a very important next step for us as we continue to expand this field of study for our students across R&D, cultivation and the production of Thai traditional medicine using cannabis as a core ingredient. We are thrilled to enter this tripartite agreement with RMUTT and feel confident of the success and quality of what we can achieve together with Bespoke”.
